I think there is one in greenport. I dropped I. There 2 years ago. It was a public beach forgot the name sorry. Still a bit of a distance from Orient but not that bad.
You are thinking of the Southold ramp at the end of Manhasset ave. The town of Southold is not offering any non resident passes this year, using covid as the reason, if you use that ramp without a town of Southold resident permit, you WILL get a $75 ticket.Yes but I think it was only 20 bucks for non resident. It was not that much.
That was a good spring flounder spot "back in the day".

Thank you appreciate it. Hopefully I’ll be out there fridayThat's a tough one, all of the Southold town ramps are for residents only, no non resident permits this year. Port of Egypt and Brick Cove Marina both have ramps for $50 per launch. Port of Egypt is offering a one month launch permit for $250. The only other public ramp that I know of is the DEC ramp in Mattituck, you will have about a 23 or 25 mile ride to Plum Gut. Their is a DEC ramp at Trumans Beach on the sound, it is a cement ramp down to the waters edge, with no dock or any kind of breakwater, in my opinion not much good for anything larger than a 16' tin boat, if any kind of wave action comes up while you are out, it could be an adventure to say the least getting back on the trailer. You will be launching & retrieving in the wide open Long Island Sound.
