Captree Pride

made a last minute decision to fish out of Captree on Saturday. Went on the Captree Pride for the first time in ages. Was pleasantly surprised to see Larry from the Captree Queen on the boat. Fished with him on that boat many of times in the 80's. Set sail, was told 1 1/2 hours to the fishing grounds... Soon realized that would only leave 1 1/2 hours of fishing time. Guy next to me on the boat had a navigation app on his phone. We seemed to have sail past the San Diego and on to a nearby wreck. First drop required an adjustment on the anchor line but it was fish on from there. Had our limit of sea bass fairly quickly. Thought I had a pool fish until I realized a guy on the stern was jigging for fluke. There were 2 at about 4 lbs caught that took the pool. Seas were calm, bunker balls everywhere with some fish on them... blues? sharks? Didn't look like bass but could've been. Added a ling to my bucket and at about 4:00 the horn blew 3 times. I should be on a Nantucket Shoals trip as I type this but Captain said trip was cancelled due to the bad weather forecast.... The weathermen were way off as from what I could tell, the seas were only 3 feet today on the shoals. Winds never gusted above 13 knots. Rebooked for next week. Something tells me we will be sailing under worse conditions than today.

Love sailing with Capt Ken on that boat.
