I bought this and had it delivered today. It’s going back tomorrow. It’s a plastic pos.
Any recommendations on a good backyard bb/pellet rifle.

Not mine, but my friend has a Benjamin air piston rifle in 22 caliber. I used it with him and it was powerful and accurate. And lots of fun.

Sorry, just saw this, we were on another Viking Cruise, lol.
Not sure who may have bought them out by now (hasn't every company seemingly been bought out over the last 30 years?) but my Beeman R8 .177 is a beauty, both physically and accuracy-wise. Although its only around 800 fps, it is a single hole group shooter at 10 meters (international air gun competition distance (or at least it used to be.) One shot one kill on squirrels, (or so I have been told.) Incidentally, Meps Lure Co. still pays for squirrel tails (or so I have been told.)
Diana, Feinwerkbrau and even Asnschutz also made or make fine air guns. However since I got into firearms and away from air guns, the best and most accurate air guns seem to be those with a rechargeable tank cylinder to provide constant fps. Spring air guns come close, the but pneumatic pump up guns made by Crosman, Daisy and yes, even Benjamin, do not provide the incredibly contant fps. CO2 powered guns, fall off dramatically after reaching half of their potential per cartridge. but some monitor the air pressure so precisely that they will automatically purge when they can no longer provide the same pressure.

Late response, BB guns are horrible today. I wanna buy the Crossman M1 Carbine, Daisy 1894's again. So realistic. You could see NY banning look alike BB guns that look real , but why don't they sell them in Pro Gun States ? I don't know what a big deal it is about selling Daisy 1894's again, there aren't manufacturers out there who'd make them new ?? Oh the old days in the early 1970's when I use to go into the woods next to Star Island Yacht club in Montauk and shoot my Daisy 1894. Amazing I never got Lyme Disease !!!!

Back in the day Sheridan Model C was 👍👍👍 in my book. Powerful, accurate, and made well. The company was sold, and changes were made to that line. Not good changes. Anyway, you can find them for sale online. They are scarce, and very well sort after.

I’m going to look into getting one for myself. Bring back some memories, and it may help with the Chipmunk population at my house.

they did not come in .177 or .22 and that lead ammo (.20 or .25? ) will be hard to come by. Go with Gamo, Anschutz or Feinwerkbrau or an older Beeman. They even have air cylinders that recharge now. My Beeman is same hole at 10 meters. Memories are just that.

They used .20
Heck, if I can still buy film for my Polaroid 150 Land Camera, and Swinger’s I’m sure the pellets wouldn’t be too hard to find. Not that I would be using hundreds of rounds, just another toy to play around with. A collectors item.

Amazon.com : sheridan 20 cal pellets. Amazon has you covered. and ebay has several for sale from $200 to $400. But do some research as to where you can get the "valve" restored. Bensons in Coram(?) was an authorized air gun repair facility and they all but destroyed the pump up Crosman I brought there for repair 20 years ago. I am just jealous as my tiny backyard is 90% pool, deck and patio and my now rare air gun shooting has to be in the basement.
