Couldn't sleep last night. Passed on dinner earlier for no reason and got an overwhelming urge for waffles and eggs at midnight. Being single and retired with no real responsibilities unless it's a fishing or doctor appointment, I can sleep in as long as I want. I'm in love with my fairly new waffle maker and the mix I have been using. Jumped out of bed and down I went downstairs to the kitchen. I turned on some Queen tunes and began cooking. This is what I turned out. Dressed them with some great warmed maple syrup and chowed down.

Too bad it wasn't the night before. Perhaps I would have seen the burglary group that hit the West Islip area. They got into about 300 cars and eventually stole a 2019 BMW which had it's keys inside. They got $300 of stash money from me which I kept buried in the center console for just in case deals that come along. They also stole three of my Amazon boxes. Fortunately, the items in my Amazon boxes were not of any value to them and they were tossed while going out my long driveway and down the street. A group of about six was seen but they all had masks on. My block has many cameras at the entrance along with Ring cameras on houses. No one could be identified in the many videos. I can't believe that they weren't setting off a bunch of alarms. The neighbors can't all be like me who leaves his car and truck unlocked. Many south of Montauk blocks were hit from Oak Neck Lane and to the west past Robert Moses Causeway.

They hit up three cars in my driveway alone along with late arriving Amazon boxes. The last picture I took was through the window without touching the car. That little brown leather pouch had my stash money. Gone. I thought the police might have been interested in possible fingerprints. They were not.

You often wonder the outcome if you ever catch them. About a year ago I noticed my shed doors open. Nothing taken just an empty bag of chips and an empty monster energy drink. Looking at my rings camera it was the morning before that the individual was in my shed I was going fishing that morning. He left my yard at 4.15 I came out at 4.45 at any different times we could’ve crossed paths, I had my fillet knife on my side very well could’ve ended bad for either one of us. Anyway sorry for your losses and hope they catch the hood rats

I'm happy I did not see them. I might have done something stupid. When I was eighteen and waiting for a friend so we could go trout fishing at 0500, while looking out the window I saw two guys coming down the block going into the cars. Instead of calling the police, I took off, out of the house and chased them. They ran about a 1/4 mile and I was catching up to them. They both stopped and turned around. Now what? They were as big as me. They both had metal flashlight and I had nothing. I put the brakes on, did a 180 and learned a lesson. Next time, maybe yell from the safety of the house or call the police and see if you could get them trapped by the police. While some might feel you can run out with one of your many guns which I also have, this is not Texas.
