I’ll tell you what I’m NOT reading, Volume 1 of Mark Twain’s Autobiography. I got it years ago and stuck on a shelf. Last night I finally decided to dive in. Much to my dismay, my expectations were smashed when I realized the book was not a work written, compiled and edited by Mr. Clemons, but a 700 page treatise of odd bits of Twain’s musings, compiled and edited by a committee and printed using a 6 point font!!

I hate tossing such a valuable piece of American literature so I contacted a fishing buddy who happens to be a full professor of American Literature at an esteemed Boston University. He told me he already had a copy. When I asked his impression I got this response which still has me ROTFFLMFAO.

Yeah, I have to admit I never read it. If there’s something in there I need to know to write about Twain’s published material I’m sure someone else can tell me.
