When was the last time we had a Spring Mackerel season off Long Island ?

Not sure about spring, but my summer fluke trip off of Montauk was plagued with macks. Had to take off my teaser and put on a big ass gulp to keep them from hitting my rigs.

    Fluke Jigs- "Hook Refinements?"

I like the offset hooks rather than the semi circular hooks on my jigs. But more than the hook shape I think jig head shapes matter more. I stocked up on boxing glove jigs and sweeper style jigs for this season, for fluke and togs, mainly because of the way they sit on the bottom. Also, I've...

Gelcoat repair or those damn furry tailed rats...

You are right, Pete. "Will PC-11® yellow in direct sunlight? Yes, PC-11® yellows in direct sunlight. PC-11® resists ultra violet light but will still gradually change color. Prime and paint if the color is important." ? And also, gel coat will not adhere to it so it should be painted. ?

$$$ if it's not the boat, it's the trailer...

I noticed that I had left my brake reservoir cap off during a storm and a :poop: load of pine needles got in there along with some water. I drained all the fluid, vacuumed the reservoir out and refilled and bleed the system. I'm ready to take her to the ramp and get the season started. ?

Gelcoat repair or those damn furry tailed rats...

PC-11 is great for repairs but it is not UV stable. If it gets any amount of sun light on it, paint it or gel coat it so it doesn't degrade. ?
