Do the toll Cameras at the NYC bridges check your vehicles registration/inspection ?

I can't register my trailer because it hasn't been inspected in the last 12 months and the trailer is 250 miles from home. Does NYS check ?

Should be able to go on the DMV website and renew it on line. They never asked about an inspection when I register mine every spring.

BTW Trailer registrations in NY expire on Dec 31st. The good part is trailers are pro rated. If you register now you only pay for Sept thru December.

Mine is due in December and I just got the email reminder. I have done it all online for many years. May as well get the 1 and a 1/2% back on my card.

I do mine online every year without an inspection. I do have a friend that has his inspected every year. He swears he needs it to register. But he's not the type of guy that you want to disagree with :;)

I went down to Baltimore to pickup a boat trailer. I should've checked the tolls before I left and diverted up to the Tappen Zee . The Port Authority is the Mafia skimming off the top of every NY'er downstate. Trucks bring in Food to feed people here and they sock them ?????? You think they'd let them in free with the food? $54 and the whole friggen ride across that Bridge ( 12 Noon ) was hell for 1/2 an hour . Not even a Thank You saying EZ Pass Paid, nothing!!!
The worst thing they ever did was sending I95 thru NYC , what were they thinking ? Never again will I make that mistake.
It's a Shame George Washington's name is associated with the Gangster PA.

Came from Pa with my pickup towing our 5th wheel RV, truck & trailer total of 4 axles no dual wheels, $55 in tolls with EZ pass, & they wonder why truck drivers don’t want to make deliveries in NY.......John

Somebody filed a lawsuit a couple of years ago against the Port Authority accusing them of having sky high tolls that interfered with Inter State Commerce. A Judge dismissed the lawsuit saying it didn't interfere with Inter State commerce. When was the last time you went shopping over in NJ ??? You avoid going there as much as possible. Those Tolls are so high , the city people pour out to Long Island and crowd our roads every weekend. The Southern State/ Northern State / LIE is bumper to bumper thru the morning into the afternoon and then when they all return home .
It's all about the money, they give you hardly any discount off peak. They should let travelers going out of the City travel free or a few dollar toll during the overnight hours and get those travelers off the road before the rush hour. If somebody proposed re-routing I 95 outside NYC, The Port Authority would object.
NYC is too big and upstate NY isn't paying their fair share. Long Island gets squeezed in the middle.
