So like most of youz guys we like to BBQ, and entertain. We have a nice Weber SS grill, but it just doesn't cut it. I much prefer charcoal so to that end I put in with my own two hands, the "BBQ section" of the patio. When we did the patio I had to get a contractor in as it required heavy...

Now here are some views of the deck, and expanded to include the new patio. Keep in mind that the area where the patio is now was anywhere from 3' - 6' below the elevation of the deck.

So in my last episode/posting of how to spend 10's of thousands of dollars on landscaping, I explained and showed some views of how I increased the outdoor living space by installing a raised patio. Those views were from looking up at it. These shots are from the patio. First, here's the deck...

The Bluestone pathway I put in. I have re-done the entire landscape over the last 15 years. And as you guys who do landscape know, it never ends. Most of the work I have done myself, or with the help of a day laborer or two. There were a few things I personally didn't do, other than the...

    Maybe I could help........

It's been a few years, but I have smoked ten's of thousands of pounds of fish, as well as pickled them. Back in 1982 my dad, my brother Mark, and I answered an ad in the NYT business opportunity section. A woman by the name of Ilana, (spelling) was looking for partners, capital, for a startup...

14' Atlantic Sturgeon spotted in Hudson

14-foot fish spotted in river, giving hope to vanished giant’s return I have seen smaller models jumping out of the water right off the beach. Never anything near this size. Even back in the day when they were plentiful this would have been considered a very large one. Good sign.

    Wind farm in Montauk

AC is usually cheaper to operate in colder climates because.......... if your comfort zone say is 70 degrees and it's 90 outside, you only need to temper 20 degrees of air. If it's 32 degrees outside, you would need to temper 38 degrees of air. More energy is needed to temper 38 degrees vs 20...
