If you have 6" of slack you can pull out of the cabin area, you can pull out 6"of new cable, cut off the damaged portion and put on a new connector. If not then just coat the split with silicon sealer and tape over it.

Lake Erie, which connects to the Detroit river, is over 200 feet deep. Lake Huron on the northern end of the Detroit River is over 700 feet deep. Lots of room for a big fish to hide.

I work in an industrial complex in Suffolk County, where abandon boats were dumped in remote areas of the complex. They must have caught the person because no boats have turned up recently.
