Hey Mitch. When the Seabass are on sandeels jigging is the Bomb! I've been using the Tsunami Split Tail Minnow (pearl spot) as my teaser above the smallest jig that gets you down. Last year on Party Boat I was the only one on the Port side and I used Spinner with ava17 + Split-tails, the...
recap from the BEST fluker in NJ, some useful stuff mentioned:
2020 Fluke Season Recap - Well its official now as we sit tied to the dock with weather on the Last Day Fluke. Cant complain tho it was another fish filled fluke season with an awesome bite for most of it. Looked back through our...
I hit it harder than usual this year and it was definitely off. I fluked pre-season from shore alot and did very well in the skinny stuff b4 being disappointed in the deep. Massachusetts fluking restored my faith in early August when I had one dream trip to Nantucket Shoals, then came...
Another Massachusetts Massacre in the books. Our annual trip targets Fluke/Sea Bass one day then Cod/Haddock the next. Unfortunately the State will not allow anglers to sleep on boat so we had to travel from Nantucket Shoals back to Hyannis, grab a nearby hotel then muster early next day to go...
Fryday flukin', literally. Never have I seen so many juvenile fluke, we had 'em on the inside today from 4" to 28" . Multiple double headers, must've landed 150 fish to get 4 keepers. Bodes well for our future

FYI - - If you are going to use a lefty reel make sure the transition guides are on the right. If you are going to use a levelwind, then it doesnt matter.
With a spiral wrap the line is going to pile up on the side of the spool where the transition guides are. If you have to level the...
Lep - - do you use a teaser above the jig ? At the advice of Buddha, I've (mostly) eliminated it and find my hook-up ratio has improved. Without the teaser you are forced to really work the jig, not just drag the jig and work the teaser. Less is more (thanks Roger!).
Have gone togging with my "stock 4.9" four times since November - it has performed flawlessly and has become my go-to for 8+bait. One thing to note is the very narrow line guide entry to the level-wind, forcing me to tie shorter top-shots so that the uni-to-uni connector knot does not get...
