I still split 5 cords by hand over the course of the winter. There are some ornery pieces that give me such a hard time I recognize them the next year as they go in the fire. I generally only pick straight grain pieces. I just love the smell of red oak.

Congrats! We're down in Onancock too. We're doing the Bay Day cleanup tomorrow. We looked at our property today and the suryevor staked out the lots. Next step is clearing the land in the fall.
