    Mellow Yellow

I have a yellow bucktail that was given to me, still in the plastic. I was going to try using it for fluke, but never did. Not sure if Yellow is a fluke color. Somewhere, maybe at Ward Melville, I think I heard that yellow looks white underwater. Any ideas on this? Anyone ever use yellow?

    NY fish regulations

That has been solidified? Darn. I guess I'll have to cancel my May 3rd trip. They sent out that survey. I am finding hard to imagine fisherman would have voted for a 19.5 minimum size option. *DEEP SIGH* I just checked the website. They have not updated it yet: Recreational Saltwater...

    NY fish regulations

Hello all I know as a rule they always wait until the last minute. Will the new fishing regs be posted soon? Trying to plan trips, and don't want to plan a (just an example) May 1st Fluke trip if the season starts a week later, I remember voting. Just asking.

    A GULP! Substitute? Maybe So . . .

I was wondering if a quick spray soaks in or is a longer dunk required.

    A GULP! Substitute? Maybe So . . .

Which GULP scent do you "refresh" with? Spray? Liquid? And I might as well ask.... Does it work on anything other than GULP? FsihBites? All-American STINK, etc.

    A GULP! Substitute? Maybe So . . .

    Have you tried FishBites?

    A GULP! Substitute? Maybe So . . .

Resurrection of an old post. I also re-watched GULP! Scent Dispersion vs Z-Man Test Video - Fresh Test Update the Lep posted. Some things may have changed. Back in 2019 people tried All-American STINK. Not sure if people still used it. Did John Skinner put out a video on this. I think, for him...

Is it me or is this scary?

Please allow me to follow up on this. In the thread Mike "Salty" Fogg, pequa1 asked : "Perhaps someone can ask "Salty" about non-biodegradeable plastics ? (I would but having oral surgery the day before.) My offer to rent out my "NY Angler.com" hoodie or tee still stands though, lol !" It...

    Ward Melville 2024

As I mentioned above the show was excellent. I went to 3 seminars. I really enjoyed John Skinner’s seminar. His videos really drive home the points he makes. I spent more money than intended. But that happens every year.

    Ward Melville 2024

First things first....The show was excellent. More on that later. I have to agree and would like to follow up on the post above. I got there 7:28. The gates was closed and the First guard waved me to the next lot. When I got there the second guard told me it was “vendors only” and to go back to...

    Paulie's in Montauk closing

I read "Dark Noon". I was amazed at the amount of fisherman that would go to Montuak. I assume that does not happen any more.

Sharks in the Long Island Sound

Can the seals be one of the many reason for the sharks?

Sharks in the Long Island Sound

I was looking at John Skinners book (fishing the edge) and was amazed at the big sharks in caught in the Long Island Sound (see page 150). While walking the pup at Port Jefferson, I saw some guys prepping to go out on the Stony Brook Sea Wolf. I asked if they caught anything interesting, he...

    Mike "salty" Fogg

Ha! You know, I may go now. I have to say, it is nice to sometimes discuss ideas and people can discuss without getting upset. I have no idea what happens to Gulp when a fish swallows it. If you have a premise, you need to be open minded and hope someone can prove you wrong. I enjoyed the...

    Mike "salty" Fogg

I thought this was interesting that nobody here knew. You guys are some of the most knowledgeable people regarding fishing. So I wrote Ward Melville. They mentioned the seminar schedule was updated. Mike is a research Technician from Stony Brook. The importance of catch and release...

Is it me or is this scary?

That is your way. Others may want to consider if using plastics is something they want to continue to use.

Is it me or is this scary?

As I mentioned in a previous post, I sent inquiries to Gulp (Berkley) Fishbites. The Fishbites reply is posted. Gulp (Berkley) never replied for whatever reason. If you are looking for data, Fishbites may supply it. Try Gulp. Maybe you'll get a reply.
