I trolled for a few minutes from the gas dock in Sewaren to Tottenville in the Arthur Kill this afternoon. Lost a tail on my white umbrella. No other hits.

Went sea bass fishing at the farms yesterday. A hundred boats out there. Caught a nice bunch of sea bass 20 two whiting and a ling. Only one smooth and one spiny dog fish. Two spiny skates. We stopped at sandy hook reef and had a steady drop and lock on mostly short sea bass. The wind kicked up...

    Fluke fishing in Raritan Bay

I have been remiss in not posting my results. Fluke this past weekend was a bust. Thankfully fantastic striped bass fishing saved the days. No fluke Saturday or Sunday. Tried multiple locations though admittedly not on the best tides. Monday I had my first four fluke of the season inside Sandy...

    Fluke fishing in Raritan Bay

1 short fluke Sunday. The water in the bay was pretty dirty. Tried bug light area, the islands on west bank, bay side of coney, there were a lot of boats there and that is where we picked the 16 inch fluke, inside of sandy hook. I never found a bite. Stripers were good had 14 in under 2 hours...

    Fluke fishing in Raritan Bay

Has anyone tried fluke in Raritan Bay yet? I will try this weekend just wondering if there is anything being caught in the bay yet. Thinking spearing and squid instead of the usual gulp and bucktail.

    Spring Blackfish

We went blackfishing yesterday at the Sandy Hook reef. Stopped on the first hump that showed life on the fishfinder because we have few spots out there. I caught 3 14 inch blackfish and a skate before the bite died. One of the other guys had a 20 inch cod and a skate. Owner couldn't connect...
