    JDM Fluke Rods

I'll post this here since it's the board with the most tackle whores :) Last year my cousin and I picked up a pair of JDM "suzuki" rods...they are light game surf rods that weigh between 4.5 and 5.5oz. I can free-hand jig my 9'6 Dialuna all day like a freshwater setup: amazing! Here's a review...

    AFSMC Striper Meeting

Unless you're NJ, put up a conservation equivalent that was rejected, go out of compliance, get rewarded by the Commerce Sec. My state is absolutely ridiculous...second only to MD when it comes to fisheries politics. From what I read 1@28 is not going to cut it...everyone will hurt, but...

Coming soon to you???? Proposed Maine law would ban ALL non-biodegradable fishing hooks and lures in freshwater!!!

It should've dried out and shrunk to an 8th of its former size, and IIRC the time it takes to "break down" is 2 years. That's vs centuries for most plastics (and there is no plastic in gulp, zero).

Coming soon to you???? Proposed Maine law would ban ALL non-biodegradable fishing hooks and lures in freshwater!!!

Gulp would be the ONLY "soft plastic" you'll be allowed to use if this law passes.

Coming soon to you???? Proposed Maine law would ban ALL non-biodegradable fishing hooks and lures in freshwater!!!

I have to say...it's not surprising. If you throw a plastic wrapper into the lake people will hit the roof, but no one thinks twice about losing a plastic worm, or having their keitech tails bitten off. Nose-hooked dropshots are the worst culprit...I went through a dozen shad-shape worms for 4...

    Tog Sh!t - A "SERIOUS" Discussion

I ordered the revo beast on fleabay, just checked that listing to PM you but they're sold out at that price...let's just say it was WELL under MSRP. If you're having trouble finding it locally, keep an eye out online.

    Tog Sh!t - A "SERIOUS" Discussion

10 - 20lb J braid x8 is all I've ever used. I go with a 10+ ft leader of 15/20lb floro, but as mentioned...we're not fishing wrecks or sharp, vertical structure for the most part. I would think 20lb braid to 50+lb leader, provided the leader is long enough...ought to work just fine. One thing...

    Tog Sh!t - A "SERIOUS" Discussion

I discovered togging pretty late in life, and I only fish for them off my kayak, and only on the jig...started off with "stunt" rods: a 6'8L Zodias with a 1k Stradic I use for dropshotting in freshwater. Landed blackfish up to 6# with that silly wand, lost a few around that size, until one day a...

    Standard Breading Method for Fish

Not a fan of cornmeal, but that's strictly personal preference. When I've used it in the past I use it in place of bread crumbs. I've come across some recipes that go flour - eggwash - cornmeal - eggwash - breadcrumbs...that's a lot of layers lol. I don't see it mixing well with panko, but...

Tranx 200 vs Curado K - Finally Some Definitive Answers

That pluton is gorgeous...like a fine time piece. At 12.3oz I wouldn't compare it to the 150/200 sized low-pros, but once you get into the 300/400 size it bears serious consideration (and yes, I'm opening up ebay to track pricing right now, along with the ryogas!) There was lots of chatter on...

    A GULP! Substitute? Maybe So . . .

Likely bc very few people use them anymore...killer bait in the rivers and far back bays, but even there gulp performs on par. Last few years, the only time I see bait consistently outperform gulp is early season/cold water temps, back bay...single spearing, dragged by guys who know what...

    Mesmerizing Footage

Once I hit the higher level maths involved in biochem/physics, I knew further pursuit was futile. If there is indeed a "math gene" for Chinese people, it certainly skipped a generation in my case :/

    AFSMC Striper Meeting

I feel like I'm interrupting here, but that...is why there must be ironclad regulations at the federal level for striped bass. F their sense of entitlement! These fish migrate up and down the coast ffs!

It is isn't it? I hope this guy repeats the project with different animals...from reptiles to fish to mammals, they will be remarkably similar for the bulk of development.
