Check out Duck Pond at Stony Brook

What happened to all the carp, trout and turtles?? I saw a snapper in there with a shell as big as a garbage can.

OK, since I will not be rebuilding it... Does anyone make a 3 ton, Low Profile, Long Reach Jack in Aluminum?? I did a Google search, even trying quotations on different words. Nothing. If you have other suggestions, please send links. I am sure you guys have seen more than me. This will be my...

Say Good Bye To Catch and Release Striped Bass Fishing

I’m sorry. Not sure how to address this post in reply mode. So I’ll do it in word. My relies/questions in Italic. You said: If we don't send a unified word that they need to stop focusing on us now, we're in for trouble. This is what's being said about the recent ASMFC meeting. I have never...

    Floor Jacks

Maybe cheaper if the jack is an expensive one like the Hein-Werner Hydraulic Service Jack, 4 tons, 5 in. H, Blue (HW93657) on Amazon. But about the same as a Harbor Freight jack

    Floor Jacks

I was thinking of a 3 ton this time. I sometimes lift the boat and think I was stressing the 2 Ton. I was looking at Harbor Freight. I am worried about the quality. I would get the Daytona line which seems superior to the Pittsburg line. These were the two I had in mind...

    Floor Jacks

I have had a two ton floor jack for many years. The hydraulic has started leaking. Is there anyone in Suffolk county (or Nassua) who rebuilds the pistons?

The Endless Enigma: AGM vs Std and Deep Cycle vs. Cranking vs. Dual Purpose in a single battery environment...

Just as an FYI….MY 125 Mercury would not start as the gear in the starter would not engage the flywheel. I saw the cord and felt I had nothing to lose. It started on the first pull. Mind you the engine was already warm. I doubt I could have started the cold engine that way. Back to...

New kind of outboard prop: Real or BS?

That expensive? Any idea how much? My 125 Merc prop is around $100 new. BTW: I was told the same thing by a number of people. That I should stick to the aluminum prop. Going stainless might cost me my lower end.

BTW: While I'm here..... I used to use Glen Shadbolt for my 125 2 stroke Mercury. I recently texted him and he called back. He said: "Do you expect me to drive up from Fla?" Two places were recommended 1) Nick Arcella 2) Port Jeff Marine Maintenance Inc 70 Comsewogue Rd # 4, Setauket- East...

    Marine electronics

A little late this year, but I finally got my boat sorted out. One issue I had was my GPS. I would hook it up, hit the ON button and sometimes it would light up, sometimes nothing. The other symptom from last year was we were heading for a spot, and the GPS would again go blank. It is...
