I used the liquid tape on the splice the the neck. First time using that stuff! Messy but definitely solid sealant!
I also used dielectric grease in one large connection i had that i then sealed w shrink tube that didn't have the epoxy sealant in it.
Thanks Capt. I didn't test my connections at all. I probably should've, especially since i was going from the stock wire harness to 14-ga wire. I think the stock was 16, but it could've been smaller. I made sure the epoxy came out of the connection ends on both sides though, so i was pretty...
Not having paid much attention to wiring in the past, I've learned a lot with rewiring things on my new boat. I always buy tinned wire, and connectors if possible. I use heavier gauge wire than stock. Learning to solder connections. I'm dubious about these new no-crimp, low temp solder butt...
I just rewired the trailer lights on my aluminum bunk trailer. I ran individual tinned wires to each light from a soldered main connection up in the neck of the trailer to keep it out of the water. I used the low temp solder/shrink tube butt connectors at each light connection to try and...
When i first got it, it was a little intimidating.
There was a thread here not too long ago where some of us were taking about using our motors for different things.
I've found the Spotlock will hold my boat in position in up to about a knot and a half of current. After that it would...
Bob was awesome. The old guard from J&H, Him, Shep, Dom, Joe, Craig, Neil and Tommy. Many of us would go down there to hang out.. some would play dollar games, bring food and drink, lol, it was a great time. I'd bring my dog, who would always manage to step on Bob's tender feet!
He will be...
I have the Minnkota Ulterra 112 on my 27' cc. It's a gave changer for sure. I use the 3 batteries from Costco as well. Not ready to put down the 3G's for lithium batts, but having the ability to charge off the outboard is pretty sweet.
I did have an issue i just had to have fixed with the...
The # of batteries depends on the amount of thrust your going to need. My boat is 27' long, but very narrow, light and has a shallow deadrise which means it doesn't have a lot of drag in the water. I'd guess a deep v 23' Parker has as much or more drag in the water as my boat. I'd suggest...
I have a Minnkota Ulterra on a 27Rambo, and as has already been said by Bryce and Rick, it's a game changer. As your pulling up on a piece, you deploy, and hit spot lock once your over it, turn around and start fishing. Not enough life? Hit Stow and be on your way in literally seconds...
That's interesting. Must be the cooler and damper climate up there that allows the dog ticks to proliferate in mowed lawns. In our area, they would tend to desiccate, which is why they're most often found in tall grasses instead, where they can avoid drying out. Dog ticks carry Rocky...
Boatguy,
There are many products, natural and synthesized, labeled for critter repellents. Some products contain similar ingredients to moth balls even, they're just labeled for the use. I just searched on Amazon for raccoon repellents and found a bunch of options.
Looks like you're talking about Astro which is permethrin. It is a restricted-use pesticide in NY, meaning only a certified applicator can apply it here. It's not restricted in ME?
