The Oliva Serie V Melanio is a great cigar,I like the figurado as they burn faster than most.Always have them in the humidor. They go on sale quite often at Holts, box quantity is only 10 and they are priced very reasonable.
I would not go near a magnesium reel for saltwater either.
I owned a 2500 Daiwa Certate and sold it and now have a barely used Certate 4000 that will be up in the Flea market within a week. There OK but just not the reel for me.Have friends that love them but I just do not like the transfer of...
Thanks Pete,Since I am married to a Greek woman from the Islands of the Agean sea I have to keep numerous Porgies and Seabass whole every year or face the consequences.I have eaten them the way your friend specifies,Pretty good if you ask me.Well I seemed to have miss placed the scaler I was...
I have used the Holographic teasers in numerous different colors with great success for many years.Ocasionally the glass minnow jigs as well. All my fishing is done in the ocean though and Not the area you mention.
I have been having the same problem this winter.Thought it was just me.I have slightly more cigars then normal as once heavy winter rolls in my use goes down to nothing.Through 2 new humicare black ice large pie Humidifiers in there to replace the old.Have not opened the humidifier for 6 days...

WOW, CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE COULD BE THAT RECKLESS AND HAVE NO BOAT OPERATING SKILLS WHATSOEVER.
Was he found to be intoxicated or on some form of drugs???
TYNEX leader material.Greg on the Ocean Eagel and Steve EC Newell man use to sell it.I have long stopped using TYNEX . Fluorocarbon works for me on the tog grounds.I can see where it may be useful for cod/Seabass on bait rigs though.Id just use a standoff knot instead and it works good...
Not new,This Knots been around for sometime.I have no idea who came up with it first but Kevin Twilley the mate on the Fishbound out of Ocean city Maryland has been tying it for me and other clients for at least the last 4 to 5 years.I don't remember when he exactly switched to it but they...
Benny the SW (salt water series) are 4000 size and up.There usually very heavy duty reels with lots of drag power used more for pelagics and tarpon or some guys do X-heavy bottom fishing with spinners like grouper/snapper.I was talking about there FD inshore/fresh water series class of reels...
I'm really happy with my Twin Power 2500 FD that I purchased this year.So much happier with it then several Daiwa Certates that I owned.I know the FD is a different class of reel then the SW series but Put a pile of big tog over the rails using it out to 102" and it was flawless.
Lep that's very interesting what you say about line diameter and measuring.I have no doubt manufacturers are a bit over zealous on the diameters and stretch the truth because who is going to hold them responsible.Im guessing when you measured the lines they were thicker then stated???
Im sure...
20 LB X-9 braid is thinner then Sufix 8 lb 832 braid.Hope that clears things up.If Stren 8 lb mono is aproximately (DEPEND WHICH STREN) .010 to .011 inch it appears you will need 40 OR 50 LB Berkley X-9 to equal similar diameter of the stren mono. This should allow you to put the heat to those...
Your answer to the diameter questions is in my post right above yours. It is much thinner then Sufix 832.You will have to use 40-50 lb X-9 braid to be close to stren 8 lb diameter. Its available in 328 yard then goes up to 2188 yard spools.I don't ever recall seeing a 600 or 1200 yard size like...
Great line and I use it on numerous reels.I cant see quite like in my under 50 days so hi vis or the white has worked out well for me.The fish dont care as you will have mono or floro leader on anyway. The X-9 line does slice easier then Sufix when contacting the wreck or sharp hard bottom when...
