18 year old boat with a blown motor. if you wanna put new power on that will cost you 24-32K depending if you go with a four cylinder (200) or six cylinder (250). a rebuild by a reputable place would certainly be cheaper (im guessing around 10K-but I may be off on that). sounds as if the boat...
I think everyone is missing the obvious we have ONE bridge operator controlling the loop, the meadowbrook and the Wantagh bridge. maybe the captain was forced to wait out an opening and thought he could squeeze under it. not a valid excuse and definitely a big mistake but honestly a...
our codfish are not the only local fish that I have found worms in. I have occasionally found the same worms in seabass and also porgies. im sure if I checked those species closer(as I do with codfish) I would probably find them more often. I've yet to see any in blackfish, fluke or ling but I...
ridiculous to even mention that! back when the blackfish season was always open there was never a dearth of tog. granted there are less fish now BUT closing our measly one month spring season so that the pin-hookers can have all the fish is ridiculous. im sorry I felt the need to post this but...
well as far as fluke im sure the powers that be will push for option 5. that way they can appease the head boat captains by starting the season so early-even though it raises the size to 19 1/2". for most that is a ridiculous start time for the season. as we all know there will be very few...
hey Matt. good luck with the new ride! there's not a lot you can do at sea on those motors. they're a bit sophisticated for the average guy. and as stated by others, without a computer its very hard to determine what's wrong. one little piece of advice that's very simple. replace your spin...
four years ago I upgraded to a Garmin 7612 with touch screen. I didn't want touch screen but was talked into it. I was told that any mess you make on the screen is easily wiped away. and my old unit had bait crust all over the buttons. couldn't get those clean without taking a q-tip or worse a...
I disagree with roccus about the touchscreen. yes-the screen does get bait juice all over it BUT it wipes clean in a second with a screen cleaner-as opposed to the mess getting into the buttons where you can never get them clean. the touchscreen works out great for me
