Wrenched on the trolling motor on friday night without any luck. The steering motor housing itself was detached from the unit and no amount of creative garage engineering would make it hold up to the demands of the motor. So my neighbor who was helping offered to take his boat because he has a...
I hate having cold hands.
I use simple neoprene rubber gloves. They don't keep my hands warm, but they will keep them dry, and I can cut crabs, de hook fish and re tie with them on.
The other key to keeping hands warm is a hot bite!
Took advantage of Saturdays nice weather and shot across to the CT side again. We arrived in the middle of the incoming tide and the big fish were there and hungry at 20 feet. First ten minutes had a pair of 20 inchers in the box by my son and buddy Ed, and within the first hour we had 6 in the...
When I met my wife, she had a pair of Sheppard mixes named Comanche (mom) and her son Bear. Being a first generation kid, my parents never had pets, so when we got married I officially had pets and Bear was such a good boy, one droopy ear, and a total goof who was torn on where to sleep when my...
I've noticed that the more current there is, the more short fish hit the baits. When the tide eases or goes slack, thats when the big fish move in.
On the other hand, my cousin in VB says he has terrible luck when its slack tide, and the better fish hit during mid tide. The issue there is he...
Broke the inlet @ 7 am with Tmac, Billy, Rich and John (Fish4Me). Cruised across the calm LIS and set the spot lock at 15 feet at Sheffield Rocks. It did not take long for Rich and John to start the party on board. Slack tide and jigs put a pair of quality keepers in the box. Billy followed soon...
Got out early Sat AM with my daughter Ally for her belated Bday trip, along with her bf JJ, his sister Courtney, and my son Andrew.
Broke the inlet at 7am and took the ride across the 2-3 foot LIS with the NW 15-20 wind. Much nicer conditions on the CT side of course, and first stop was the...
Got out twice this weekend!
Saturday was a Three Amigo's trip with Fish4Me on Koz's ride along with my son for a trip out to the Middle Grounds, east of the Lighthouse. Spot lock kept us glued at 30 ft and we had instant life as the tide was near high slack. Mike started the day with a quick...
I have a 2021 84 inch Rhodan on my 24 ft CC which is not an auto deploy. The unit has worked well for the majority of the time, and this year it needed some attention. Luckily, the Rhodan units are fairly simple to work on. I have changed the High Current Board this year ($400) as well as took...
