    Agreed, lightest weight possible keeping reasonably straight up and down. This is especially important if slow pitch jigging. On that note I had a 10+ Fluke jigging a 3 3/4” naked solo Crippled Herring.

    Usually start off with a hi - low rig with lightest appropriate weight on the bottom. First above the weight either a poison tail or a Spro jig. Above that is usually a feather or skirted taeser. Adorn each with a spearing, squid, or Fluke belly. Sometimes Gulp grubs.

    The federal judge's ruling only applies to the Atlantic (specifically the South Atlantic, covering Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina). It does not affect the Gulf of Mexico. Gulf red snapper fishing seasons proceeded as planned. NOAA Fisheries GREAT IDEA!!
