Hah, good question! 10 minutes for each of the risers. One hour on the port side manifold. Not bad, considering the last four bolts have to be done by feel alone. The starboard side manifold, one hour to get out 7 of the eight bolts. The last, rear-most bolt, another hour plus.
Just can no...
Well, its that time of the year yet again. Time to get going on needed repairs, upgrades, maintenance and Spring Prep.
So, last Fall I wrote that I thought I had an exhaust manifold leak - turns out I had two, one on each side. Geez, I can't believe that it was such a minor sound, given what I...
Here's an article by the general manager of North Fork Composites, Gary Loomis' blank company. He also owns Rodbuilding.org, the # site for the custom rod-making hobby/business.

Anyway, I think this...
Preach!
Losses were heavy last season, and so I've been working on filling out my supply of newly augmented B/S "Stage II" rigs (LOL!) and putting together the coming season's bucktail supply. Ran out of silicone skirts and so need to wait for AliExpress's snail-like shipping to continue the...
So I did a full boat search and that "file type" hook sharpener is no where to be found aboard. I must have tossed it, after repeated attempts to minimize its between-trip rusting.
I think I have another on the boat, more of a "file type." The boat is in my side yard and I have to get on it later today, so I'll see if I can find it and put a pic up. But I do like the Calcutta above.
That one's O.K. I've used it. But I now carry this one on the boat - more than twice the size of that last one, allowing a better grip and longer sharpening stroke. I keep it in a zippered baggie. Because of where and how I fish there are plenty of times I end up driving my hook point into rocks...
Yep, we probably bumped shoulders at a booth or two. Saturday was pretty packed, I'll say that. Spring Fever is a thing, especially after such a miserably cold Winter. Uggh.
I do like both reels very much. My own Revo Gen4 Winch has been flawless in 3 seasons of deep fluking use. Just as smooth...
Me and my friends hit the show yesterday morning. Thank goodness for on-line ticket sales, saved at least 30 minutes of standing in line outside, with a cold breeze making it very uncomfortable.
All the big tackle players were there. The Daiwa and Shimano exhibits were quite well stocked. Wish...
I dunno. I find it tough to justify the cost of any of the better titanium pliers. I spend plenty on unnecessary dumb fishing stuff, but just can't see it for a pair of pliers. Maybe someday, but not THIS day.
I bought these from Amazon last Spring ($25), used them all season and can't find a...
Which reel has this handle knob issue? It sounds like you have either dirt stuck inside the knob or corrosion of the handle knob's center shaft. Common problems. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think either of your mentioned reels feature removable knobs with ball bearings inside, so just...
What does this mean? Are you saying that you want to "back reel" and the reel will no longer do that?
Also, stiff cranking is no bueno in any small spinning reel. I refuse to use a reel like that. Without having the reel here to figure it all out, it sounds to me like either over greasing...
