Diamond fishhook sharpener

Yesterday my wife was going to Osprey Dominion for a 5K run/walk. I went to the Port Jefferson fishing show. Al Goldberg was giving a talk, and I sat in on the discussion. Al had a tiny hook sharpener around his neck. He said it was a Diamond fishhook sharpener. I was small with a red handle and a single groove down the center, similar to the one at Tactical Fly Fisher Diamond Hook Sharpener-File. I have purchased a few hook sharpeners at local boat shops and have never been happy with them. I even tried a chain saw blade sharpen.

Anyway, when there was a knife sharpener discussion Knife discussion and Leprechaun recommended the 10" Dexter diamond hone, which I purchased and must admit works very well. In light of that a diamond hook sharpener makes sense. Plus, I like the stone on the sheath on my Cutco Fisherman's Solution is good, but not exactly perfect.

Can anyone recommend a good one? Also, sharpening in the hook sharpener groove makes sense. How do you sharpen the inside of the barb when the sharpener may not get too. Then again, the small one like Al had would probably get in there.

Please allow me to follow up. I just went on Amazon for a quick search.

This one looks good: https://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Shar...amond+fish+hook+sharpeners,aps,89&sr=8-6&th=1

But I like this one with the round part to sget in the inside of the hook:

I rather shee what is recommended bofore I spend money and waste it.

That one's O.K. I've used it. But I now carry this one on the boat - more than twice the size of that last one, allowing a better grip and longer sharpening stroke. I keep it in a zippered baggie. Because of where and how I fish there are plenty of times I end up driving my hook point into rocks and other hard stuff. This one will both straighten and sharpen a 5/0 Gami Baitholder or 2/0 Big Gun with a few strokes.

I think I have another on the boat, more of a "file type." The boat is in my side yard and I have to get on it later today, so I'll see if I can find it and put a pic up. But I do like the Calcutta above.

So I did a search and that "file type" hook sharpener is no where to be found aboard. I must have tossed it, after repeated attempts to minimize its between-trip rusting.
