George, the best part about this season is that there are no great expectations. New coach and assistants. New QB. New attitudes. I will be happy with 6-7 wins. As of April of last year veterans have free entry to all New York state parks. My wife and I headed to Robert Moses to check out the Erin surf yesterday with no entry fee for us. Proof The System Is Broken - We killed 3x the fluke we took home
Pequa, the for hires will never agree to a two-fish limit. I like Capt. Mike's 4 fish 18"-23" idea. A 23" fish is a trophy here on the north side. Culling a few 18" fish would be a pleasure up here. Very few snappers so far in the Huntington area as well. regards Holty- holty

But George, fluke grow fast. Shouldn't those plentiful 17" and 18" fish we were catching last spring be keepers this year? The draggers can't be netting them all. regards Holty- holty

The amount of bait and short fish in this area is crazy. Why do we keep seeing these short fish early year after year? This spring scenario has been ongoing for over 10 years. I am sure the draggers are taking their toll, but shouldn't some nice fish make it through? Do these fish abandon this...- holty

Fluke bite outside the Nissequogue
I fished Sunken Meadow in the big blow Saturday morning by myself. Fun but frustrating fishing. I stopped counting at 25+ fish, with only one 19" keeper. They were all over a small white bucktail with a Pink Shine teaser above. regards Holty- holty

Most in the Huntington area are familiar with his reputation. I have never had a problem with him, but many of my friends have. Tog season brings the most trouble. We pass each other in the inlet often, and I will get an occasional nod. I have drifted near him while fluking hundreds of times...- holty

A NY Striped Bass Meeting concerned fishermen should attend or tune into December 10 @ 17:00
So I agree with boxing one fish over 26-28" with no slot. That is a no-brainer to me. This will save many fish. The one keeper and you put your rod down? Hmmm.....not sure this will work especially for a charter group. Say you have a four to six-man charter bucktailing the Gut. One happy angler...- holty

They should win many games and vie for the AFC East title as long as number 8 stays healthy. Their defense should keep them in every game Reddick or no Reddick. Still, in the AFC, you need to be better than teams like Kansas City, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Baltimore to name a few.- holty

A consistent bite has developed for me off Lloyd Point in the last few weeks. Another limit this morning with many throwbacks. No monsters as the biggest was 22". My faith in the North Shore fishery has returned!! After picking a keeper fish here and there for the last month I limited out in the last hour of the ebb off Lloyd Point this evening. Having a tough time culling through all the shorts here on the north side. Fished the Golf course to Asharoken this morning. Plenty of action but nothing for the box. Gulp sand eels were can't miss.
