longcast

Well-Known Angler
Started at 430 this morning with my brother. Launched at Mt Sinai Harbor and made our way to the middle grounds, fished some humps between there and buoy 11 and the shoal over there. Super quiet except for a giant porgy on an A47 jig.

Got home at 930and said to my wife, hate to clean the boat for a few hours of time, why not join me and we will dump in over at Smith Point for awhile? Off we went. Backed the boat down and just a hair far from the dock so I leaned a bit and more or less fell onto the boat. Cool maneuver except for my phone getting pinched between my body and the gunnel. Watched my phone sink into water. Stayed calm (wife surprised at my calm) and jumped in feeling around with my feet. Found it, dove down and got it. So far so good except still sounds a bit funny. Lol.

Ocean seemed fine so took a ride down into Westhampton and found some sharks just swimming at the surface in 15 feet of water. Very cool to watch. Looked towards the beach and noticed some very nervous bunker. Snagged a few and brought them back to the inlet for the incoming. First drift and game on. Very few boats, maybe I found something. Landed one and all the rest of my bunker came back eaten to the gill plate. Small blues chomping and not getting the hook. Wife assisted with the net. Later met up with my brother in law as he was on his buddy’s 55 Viking with his daughter. Couple fluke for them and that was it.
Home now resting up for tomorrow.
