Had an almost 21" fluke in my lap for five minutes while trying to get the buck out of its maw. then before I could dehook, it jumped back into the bay and had to be netted all over again. Gotta sew a pliers sheath onto my PFD somehow. The little one in my midships hatch just too short. Just a couple of shorts after that. All three fish bit at the very last of the outgoing. Weather forecasts all said north wind for early on and it was due East, which I hate but if it meant that fish... It never rained here yesterday or last night so no storm runoff. If I thought I would keep coming home with a fluke I could deal with the disappearance of the weaks, but where are they ? Last summer it seemed I towed home a weak every paddle. I did send a pic of the fluke to my friend and neighbor who recently had surgery (and is a fishing fanatic) just to taunt him, lol. Sun didn't come out until I got home to clean the fish and it definitely kept the weekend idiots home this morning.

Nothing but skunk unless you count some shorts for the last week. going to stay away, enjoy the pool, do some gardening etc. for a few days. Every time I see a boat stop to fish in my back bay area for the last week, they make three drifts and leave. I could paddle to the south side of the bay but have to admit I like the solitude and am getting old for repeat "trips."

I was pleasantly surprised to get some weaks (good size ones too) at the beginning of the season way back in the back bays of West of you. But then they and the blues seem to have gone elsewhere. It's been a weird season, that's for sure.

Yup. Late May and have not seen another weak. Last year I caught them all summer long. thankfully we have a lot of fluke and weaks still vacuum sealed from last year, lol.
