last of the incoming on open sandy beach. a little weed on every cast. W wind and enough white water to keep one practicing his casting. only a total of three others fishing in the two hours I was practicing my casting. Saw no bait, boats were going past 1/2 mile out and seemed to be loitering off Jones Beach West End beaches. Saw one gannet dive 1/2 mile out, gulls all sitting on the sand. this is just my second surf casting trip, both after we returned from Europe two weeks ago and doubt I will try more than a couple more times, although walking a mile or more on the sand on a beautiful day is nice exercise.
