Anyone Fishing On Long Island?

I caught a few bass last week at a Suffolk county lake. I tried going for stocked trout in Smithtown but there were a few people in all my usual spots.

I was thinking about going to the Nessequa myself (forgive the spelling) but do not want to go where there are other people right now.

I might try surfcasting on the 15th if the beach is still open. I haven't done freshwater in years, will return to it next year when I turn 70 and can do the lifetime thing for that and hunting. (Yes, I am a piker.) But I agree, I don't want to get close to anyone except the wife now.

I hear ya, I turn 70 next year myself (hopefully) what that will afford me here in ct. I don't know, all license are free to 65 and over.
As far as getting close to anyone, I'm not taking any chances, I make my wife wear a mask, a full face mask. ??

Has anyone been doing any fishing with this Coronavirus? I have pretty much been sitting home doing nothing.

I have worked on the boat trailer (a lot of work). I am now waxing the cleaning up the boat (even more work).

I have been sharpening hooks on my bucktails and re-tying new fluke rigs that need it. Using my new bucktails I am tying a few extra rigs. Always seems to be a lot of prep work to do. Glad I have a few extra Tom Teasers and Harvey teasers. Also prepping my John Paduano.

That is for me. I promised a friend I help him clean and wax the outside of the hull of is 23 foot Steiger Craft Miami before it goes in the water. If you're bored, you can come help ;) . We will give you your own side of the boat to maintain your social distancing.

Thank goodness we got in the Ward Melville show. Some of the stuff I purchased has helped keep my busy and prepping for the first day of fluke.

Got out with a couple of buddies yesterday on the western sound. Mostly just to get out of the house. Tried for bass, flounder and blackfish. No luck with bass or flounder but hit some shallow pieces and managed a half dozen blackfish with one keeper. Water temp was between 46-47. Should pick up as temps rise

I took the kids to Belmont lake last Thursday. Caught 2 brown and 1 rainbow. Killed about 2-3 hours (to get them out of my wife’s hair, lol)
Have a small lake near the house I might try tomorrow. Other than that I’m waiting for April 15th to hit the beach!
