This one was taken from a remote camera this morning. It's a younger bird probably around 3-4 years old.

He's been hanging out there for about an hour!

WOW! I saw a bird like this about 4-5 weeks ago. On my street, atop a telephone pole just like this shot. I am less than a mile as the eagle flies from SBH.

When I stopped the truck (almost underneath the pole) it flew off. I initially thought it was an osprey, but I could not 100% sure. Now I am 98% sure!

Like you said in the other post, most likely the same bird. However, the bald eagle I saw several times two years ago was no juvenile.

I heard that there is likely a nest in the SBH area. It was in last week's Smithtown News.

There is. As long as we have all this big bait around they will thrive here.

Osprey, spring of 2016, over Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa. No eagles here, but ospreys relatively common.

It's not often a Bald Eagle is spotted in Manhattan. This eagle was found in Riverside Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan yesterday. It's just a matter of time before they set up home there. Plenty of rodents and bunker there.

It's pretty amazing that we now have over 100-pair of nesting Eagles in NY when you consider there was a single pair in the early '60s.
