Bass bite

Decided to head out after work today, Headed out with Frank Sr, Chuck, and Dan. The past two days the fish are hitting jigs, had our rods all set for jigging. Before heading to where the fleet was decided to send out two wire lines with mojo’s on them and the work begins raking, parachute, whatever you want to call it, to me it’s work. Dan hooks up first and it’s a slot fish at 30” we then hook up with a bluefish. Needless to say we continued working this area and never made it to jigging. Ended up with 2 bluefish, one bass at 25” and our limit of slot fish all the same between 29” to 30”. Back to the dock at 8.30, we all went home with some filets.

Excellent work, Vinnie. Nice to see a good catch of Bass dur9ing the summer heat.

My understanding/experience is with mojos (8-20 oz each and sometimes a pair) you use braid and don't sweep the broom,
but with wire and a parachute jig (3 oz), you really work for the hookup, then work to pull in the fish on wire, with the boat in gear, since there is no line stretch.

Are you parachuting with mojos?
that does seem like a lot of work!
