New Angler
This year was bad for very large, Lotus lily pads in Orange L., NY that most likely came from Greenwood L. in N.J. Once they got started, they spread like crazy and the only way to get rid of them annually is hiring expensive harvesting companies. The leaves overlap, making fishing a challenge as it is through any dense cover. The only way to get a lure unstuck is by hand, pulling the stem out.

Sounds like heavy punching gear on braid for bass fishing.

Problem is getting a boat through the stuff! Homeowners are having real problems as are anglers in fishing boats where trolling motors won't cut through. Plust to punch through in different spots around the boat, a 7' rod is a must to pitch into gaps.

7 or 8 can be the norm, although that gets heavy. My brain forgot about the actual boat moving through. That's a problem!
