Blackfish

Bachala

Angler
Armed with 4 dozen greens and 2 tubs of clam from Duffys B&T, sailed with a new friend who fishes with me on the Montauk Star. Sailed from Oyster Bay to Rye Playland area on Saturday in my 69 13' Boston Whaler. In a 1' chop coming straight from the west made for a bit of a tough ride for my buddy. But we made it across in about 45 minutes. It was pretty much non stop bites the entire day. Started at 10:30 and called it quits at 3:30 after bait ran out. Mostly all shorts with 2 keepers at 17", the rest were mostly 10-12 inch fish. Had a keeper sea bass and 6 big porgies. Albies kept popping up casually here and there but did not take anything I threw at them. Ride back was perfect as the sound laid a bit flatter at the end of the day. Water temp was 58 and hopefully it will drop soon. Hoping to get another 2 trips in before I throw in the towel for the year.
