Boat Is In!!!

Nothing of value here, just sharing my excitement on getting my boat to its home dock this am from the boatyard.

Only quibble is my boat has two valves in the far corners of bilge that open and close drain scuppers. Sea Vee says some folks like to close the drain scuppers when backing down on fish. I don’t know, I think it’s stupid. Anyway, rained hard last night and my deck had water since the rain water had no escape route. Had to wedge all 230 pounds of me deep into bilge to open both valves. This was at 6:15 am, I was solo, and took a few minutes to pry myself out of bilge. Really was wedged in tight and thought the boatyard my find me dead in the bilge :)

Small price to pay I guess. Just ecstatic to be in the water again!

Lucky you and great to hear!

My buddy is on the hard at Morgan Marina NJ and was scheduled to go in last week. He called them to confirm a couple days in advance and that's when they said they couldn't get him in because a boat was in front of him and it was too tight to move it (or something like that). Weren't sure when they'd be able to get him in either. Of course when I spoke to him he was apoplectic.

On the day he was scheduled to go in (even though they weren't doing it) he already had the day off so he went down there and sent me this pic. He's the blue bottom boat behind that Sea Ray (the one they wouldn't move, with tons of room next to it, because it was too tight). Apoplectic again, LoL

I've never heard of a marina not moving a boat out of the way to launch on an agreed date....never happened to me in all these years but I'm not at Morgan, luckily.

Hope you have a great season.

We do exist in parallel universes, John. My rig just got splashed yesterday and I too was crammed into my bilge this morning testing m batteries and spraying up electrical connections. No matter what your physical size, the bilge of a boat is always a tight squeeze!!!

I plan to do some prospecting this Sunday, know there are plenty of Scup and some Bass around.
We will see it the chilly water temps will give up any Fluke and if NYS will finally release the official regulations!!
Have a great season.
