Boating Safety Class Bay Shore Library April 23, 24 and 25th 6-PM to 9-PM

First thing I would teach ' You are responsible for your wake "
Sure ' rubbing ' happens on the North Shore , but you South Shore guys are way more guilty of speeding by some poor sap fishing in his pride and joy 16 footer while throwing a 3 foot wake .... RESPECT is missing from many a boater on LI .........
Sailboaters and their 'right of way ' is another worthy topic ...........

I agree
I'm always dumbfounded by the guys that feel the need to run at WOT between drifts out on the shinnecock reef....

Scupper-both topics are covered in the class. That YOU are responsible for your wake, and sailboats and the right of way in rules of the road
Good to hear .......Butttttt , Sailboats don't always have the 'right ' of way ...... I am sure you will educate these students on that subject

A sailboat is a sailing vessel making way under power. A sailing vessel is making way under sail.

A Sailboater who thinks he /she has the right of way continually , is a pompous "Ass' or a uneducated 'yachtsman ' ................
I sometimes like to tinker around some South Shore Inlets drifting and dreaming , only to watch the ongoing show .......
