The Spire of Notre Dame Tumbled Like a Spear Into the Heart of Something Timeless

"History burns as well as wood does. In 2018, the National Museum of Brazil burned and 200 years of assembled history was lost, including the 11,000-year old skull of an early human. Earlier this month, in Tennessee, the Highlander Center, one of the intellectual seedbeds of the long struggle for African-American civil rights was lost to what probably was arson. These places are not as famous, nor as picturesque, as Notre-Dame, but with intellect and vaulting human achievement under attack in so many places these days, all of them leave a lot of the best of what we are in ashes, falling from an evening sky."

Salma Hayek's billionaire husband just promised to donate $113 million (100m Euros) to rebuild it.

Cellie, that was my parish also before we moved from the city. We lived right across the street on 23rd ave in the corner of 84th. Moved to Long Island 45 years ago. We were married in that church 46 years ago. That new church had the shortest aisle. Not even time to change my mind. But I too can remember the old church and that smell.

WoW. Change ya mind, lol... yeah I remember jumping into the fire truck to get warm... for Sunday Mass the school put us into basement of the school.. We had to sit on metal folding chars and kneel of on the concrete floor (torture) cause the cushions went with the torched church... cellie...

They might use the scans from the video game "Assassin's Creed" to help rebuild the cathedral - pretty cool.

This Muller report is just Bull Shirt... cellie...

All the BS on all the news outlets right now, along with the posturing and saber rattling from both sides of the aisle is really tiresome already.

Here Cellie, do a little Retail Therapy at SwimOutlet.com to cheer yourself up...
