Great quality and not crazy expensive.

I buy from HTlureco in bulk. I LOVE that he uses a "fluke-proper" 5/0 black steel hook in all bucktails over 2oz. None of those bass-sized 9/0's in the 4/5/6oz-sized heads. And the 5" skirts from China I buy in lots of 100, mixed colors.

Best, Lep

No Eddie sometimes I find a plain jig works better then a bucktail.Being a go through so many every year I need to restock.Fishing the reef by us is a rig eater.I loose more rigs fluking then I do blackfishing.

Donald, I have watched Darryl catch fluke many times on unpainted jigs while I was standing next to him struggling with my "personally painted" jigs. It gets frustrating because I put a ton of time & effort into some of those jigs. Then there are days when I outfish him and I feel more inclined to continue painting my own.

The other consideration is that Darryl almost always uses strips of sea robin on his jigs and I don't  ...I have to think that on certain days, the strips are going to out-catch my Gulp / squid tipped jigs. One thing I've learned over the years is that every day is different. Every tide is different. Hell, every drift is different! You need to CONSTANTLY make adjustments or get left behind in the keeper department.

You wanna see a guy who has drastically FALLEN OFF in the keeper fluke department the last few years?...Look at that pic to the left!

Eddie I agree with the jigs.Somedays they want a bucktail sometimes a plain jig. Sometimes it does change with the drift. Something with the color too.

I've had this color discussion many times too...Some folks believe color is insignificant. I tend to disagree with that sentiment. I'm a firm believer that color is an important factor when fluke jigging.

I have a bunch of 1oz white and chartreuse bucktails I’m looking to sell in bulk. I probably have around 200 or so left. Would love to sell them in lots of 50 or more.

Hey Donald! Good to see you on the board. I use a guy out east for my plain jigs. Caught my DD this year on one of them. It was actually a chartreuse 2 oz without hair. I tipped it with a 5 inch swimming mullet. The guy's name is Chris, and his shop is called Bluewater Lures in Southold. He uses good hooks and makes real nice jigs. I like using his stuff when fishing heavy bottom. At under $2 a pop, it doesn't hurt so much when you hang 4-5 up on a trip.

Here's his info. He will ship his stuff.

Hi Don,
I have to agree with Frank regarding Chris at Bluewater. I switched to him 3 years ago as my supplier for all bucktails Striped Bass, Fluke, and even Blackfish jigs. He is easy to deal with, makes an excellent product, and offers fair prices. Also, I don't mean to dis Tommy or Ralph but Chris makes excellent Fluke teasers if you are so inclined. He will have a table at the Ward Melville Show if you plan to attend.

I'm lucky being buds with John Skinner's older, and more handsome brother whose bucktails are legendary out east. My tackle box is full of these in all sizes.

Just to add, he’s a heck of a nice guy and will take the time and talk to you about what type of jig you’re looking for. A guy you definitely root for....
