Bucktails

Thanks Captain, again, great looking bucktails he does nice work.

Speaking about trying to keep Mr Greeneyes away, I have always associated the color green and attracting Bluefish. From the green bananas used exclusively to catch Bluefish back in the day, to green tubed umbrella rigs, to green spoons for wire line trolling, etc. I’m surprised by the green headed jigs. I usually always think white, and red mixed in sometimes for Stripers.

Something Longcast mentioned earlier, about confidence I think. Agreed 110% on that one. You need to believe in and be committed to your equipment from your rod, reel, line, right down to your presentation deep underwater. An example, a golfer will try to visualize his shot before he swings, and as a fisherman I think it’s important that you do the same. I read a book many many years ago, titled, POSITIVE FISHING. Great book that spoke to this mindset.
Typically, I also used to feel green heads were more of a Bluefish attractor. Before meeting Bob most of my Bass bucktails were white or yellow. Of course, Bob tied them in white also. But the presentation on these "overstuffed" jigs must be just too hard for any self-respecting Bass to pass up regardless of head color!

I also agree with both yourself and Longcast about keeping your head in the game to improve your results. I recently read a similar book, The "Power of Positive Fishing" by Michael Tougias and Adam Gamble (published in 2023). Really interesting and informative story about 2 very close friends and top anglers in their own right that pushed each other to improve all the time.
