Bunker Dieoff

Interesting, I guess the spring thaw melt water carried nutrients that got resulted in an oxygen-depleting plankton bloom. IF the fish were herded in by predators, grab the rods and get down there!! Weird that the SF Chronicle picked this up, though...

That’s what I was thinking about the predators. If that was the case I’m sure we’d be hearing about it from the boys down south.
 
MY opinion: Governor Murphy brined the roads to the point where the salinity of the whole ocean is raised ! From the Asbury Park Press : ... the menhaden, called bunker colloquially, were probably chased into the creeks by seals and became trapped when the tide went out"

Hadn't thought of seals which is pretty amazing since I spent many languid hours this summer watching seals feast on pogies (bunker) right off my dock...
