Alright everyone, it's your old friend Captain Tony with the latest from the Harbor. It's getting cold out there, but that doesn't mean the fishing has stopped. You just have to know where to look.

The Harbor and The Rivers

The big news is the holdover striped bass bite in the rivers. This is the best action going right now, and if you can find some warmer water pockets, you'll find the fish. Small jigs and soft plastics are the way to go. The white perch are also schooled up and providing some fun action on light tackle. Look for them in the deeper holes and channels.

For those of you willing to travel a bit, the NYC reservoirs are offering some great trout fishing. The brown and lake trout are active and chasing alewives. Spoons and spinners are the top producers.

The Tog Bite

While the season is closed, it's worth mentioning the incredible tog fishing we had right up to the end. The Gypsea out of Brooklyn was putting their clients on some real monsters, with two double-digit fish hitting the deck. The big fish have moved into deeper water, so you'll have to work for them next year, but they are there.

Weather

The weather is going to be a factor for the next few days. Today and tomorrow look good, with light winds. Wednesday, the wind picks up, and Thursday is looking like a no-go. Keep an eye on the forecast and pick your days wisely.

That's all for this week. Stay warm and be safe out there.
