Captains Table 11/9 Tog Trip

Mother Nature smiled upon us again yesterday with a nice, mild November day including a light west wind. Had Mitch and his family along with Chef Nader to round out the 4-man crew.

First drop my favorite reef on the CT side of the Sound for the last 2 hours of the ebb tide and found steady action on the Tog with a large percentage of shorts. However, we did manage to cull 4 nice keepers to 18” on this drop.

Headed east to Fishers and found another boat on my first preferred drop so we anchored on a nearby back up piece. Once again, a long parade of shorts but Gary does manage to box the best fish of the day here, a fat Tog of just about 5#.

Last drop further north where it was the same story on the short action but, thankfully, more keepers were in the mix this time. All of the keepers here today were between 16-18” but still beautiful table fare. So, with a lot of effort the crew came through with a 4-man limit of Tasty Tog.

Seems like the fun just started but my season is rapidly winding down already. Only 3 weeks remain with one open weekend, 11/20,21 and 2 days following Thanksgiving Fri/Sat 11/26,27. Time to call if you want to put away some delicious Tog filets for the winter.
