Yesterday’s charter found Justin and his 4 buddies aboard looking for some hard-core rod bending action. With the steady East wind our only option was to work the half day trip in Plum Gut with the flood tide.
As usual at this time of year the action on mixed size Blues was almost non stop once the tide got moving. While 3-way bucktails took some fish, diamond jigs did most of the damage. The Bluefish ranged from 3-9# and the boys also landed 4 short Bass to 23”. Lots of laughs and a good workout for the crew who took home 15 of the “right sized” Blues for the smoker and grill.
Now is the time for Sea Bass in the Sound and the bite is close enough to port to make half day trips all you need for a limit. Give me a call if you want to fill your freezer with a 7 fish pp bag limit.
