Captain's Table - Kids Action

Had Max, his son and 2 grandchildren join me for a half day afternoon charter yesterday trying to beat the land-based heat. Fortunately, once we left the dock a steady southerly breeze gave us just enough relief while keeping the waters north of Plum quiet enough to allow us to enjoy some steady bottom action.
While the ebb tide was still running a bit the crew caught mostly Porgies, medium sized, but as the current slacked off the Sea Bass bite took over.

With the current 16.5" regulations they did a lot of sorting but eventually, within the 90 minutes of the gentle tide cycle the group managed to put 7 nice Sea Bass in the box for a few dinners. Young Theo and his sister Leila managed to catch the 2 largest biscuits of the afternoon. It was truly Kids Day yesterday!

Heading back offshore next Saturday, 7/22 for another Montauk Fluke run and there are 2 spots open on this split charter. Give me a call if you want to cash in on some of the real quality fish we are catching out there of late.
