Well-Known Angler
Just a short report on my 2 half day charters to close out last week on Thursday and Friday.
Thursday saw the Sara party join me looking to put some tasty Sea Bass filets on the table and with a strong effort they were rewarded with a dozen nice keepers to 2.75# working spots north of Plum to the middle of the Sound.
On Friday Jeremy brought his whole family including his teenage son and daughter also wanting to cash in on the Sea Bass action. Needed a little more searching with the 16” limit, so we started first on the CT side of the sound for a few nice table fish, including one surprise 19” Fluke. Then as we worked our way back towards Plum, we hit 2 other drops that eventually resulted in capping off a 14 fish total of biscuits to 3#.
Dying to get back to Montauk to take advantage of the hot ocean Fluke bite but wind and scheduled charter days keep clashing. Lost 2 trips this week due to unfriendly sea conditions. Keep an eye out on this board for upcoming split trips as it often requires some flexibility to get a good Montauk day on short notice.
Enjoy your summer and the consistent fishing!
