Much better sea conditions in the Sound allowed me to run 2 half day Sea Bass trips on Sunday and Tuesday respectively.

For Cindy’s group of 4 on Sunday we found a rather sizeable fleet on one of my favorite drops just north of Plum Still with a diligent effort the crew managed to box 7 nice Sea Bass to 18” along with a school sized Blue and a half dozen quality Porgies. Cindy sent me a follow up message that evening telling me of a very satisfying “fish fry” they enjoyed.

Yesterday I had Cathy and her husband John and 2 friends join me for another Sea Bass half day trip to the CT side of the Sound. Acton was very steady and while we did a lot of sorting, they crew still managed to box a limit of nice biscuits to 18”.

Hoping to get at least one more Montauk Fluke trip in this season as I hear the bite has picked up a little recently. Otherwise, we are blessed wit a very solid Sea Bass bite in the eastern Sound. Not very many weekend dates left in September when the bag limit increases to 6 pp, so if filling the freezer with tasty filet sis part of you r plan now is the time to book a trip!
