I just had to take advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday for the Tog opener, So, running so I fished for just 4 hours yesterday. After loading a couple of bushels of greens in my carts in advance of many pending Tog charters, I took full advantage of the "lake like" conditions on the Sound. Shot over to my favorite reef on the CT side and in 50' of water had a steady bite of mixed Tog and Sea Bass. in 90 minutes around slack water, I managed 2 keepers to around 4# and threw back at least a dozen more. Also boxed 4 nice Sea Bass to 3# before the full Moon ebb tide blew me off the piece.
Then on to one of my favorite shallow spots to give the spinner a try. Next 2 hours was insane nonstop action with about 95% shorts but I retained one of 2 more keepers caught on the jig. Also broke off one brute that I simply could not stop as the Grappler was strained to the max and this big Tog finally found the rock he was looking for. But that's what keeps us coming back for more!!
