Car Shield

Wader, did u look into an extended from VW?
after reading a few replies on here I will now...

Car Sheild's cost seems to be resonable at least vs another warrnty company I spoke with & is cheaper then the one I've got on my Colorado. That's why I asked for experiences from others.

As MTB said, price is negotiable. Good luck ?

Oh I understand the desire to save I am a piker after all and a Scot to boot. But some savings are simply not worth pursuing

Ask someone who actually deals with warranty companies dont seek advice from people who have no idea how they work but like to think they do

Being retired I admittedly don’t pay enough attention to what people do anymore but isn’t that what you do ?

Then would you say in most cases that if an auto problem came up one would be better served by a dealer warranty than a 3rd party one ?

Here's what you need to know......WHAT IT COVERS AND WHEN AND FOR HOW LONG......BUy IT FROM THE DEALER after negotiating the price.....stay away from 3rd party

After your factory warranty runs out yes get a 3rd party one
Do you have to get it immediately after the factory warranty ends? I mean lets say you buy a used car with 45k that had an original 36K factory warranty, can you add a warranty after its been off warranty for 9k or whatever the math may be

Depends on how long you hold onto things. Had my 1999 Yukon for 21years and 250k Miles. Never any major repairs. Rust became a big issue. Was time to move on but I think I got my money's worth. My other cars usually last around 7 years before I trade them in.

Yes Geico/ AAA have some very good after market warranty's
Is the AAA extended warranty accepted at dealerships ? when the extended warranty on my 2010 Ranger ran out I joined the AAA for the first time in my life (already had them respond to a dead battery and a flat tire, lol) so I am a member.

If they want to they dont have to

Ouch. How does one find out? I have never trusted the service department at the dealership where we bought our last two cars. (this is why I lean towards the manufacturers' warranties and not these third party peeps.)
