11' Okuma. 60 yds 65. 75 65yds
9' Lami 50yds. 55. 60 50yds

Measured on a lined, town park football field. both used same length leader with a 2 ounce bank sinker. Both have 20 lb fireline. The wind was a 15mph crosswind with higher gusts. Two casts each from north and south end of the field, wind of course always perpendicular to direction of cast. First casts of the year, none since late November.
Wind took the Okuma line and sinker much further off course, nearly ten yards each time. (Maybe my inexperience with longer rod.)
the Lami seemed to have a slight but audible "twang" after sinker was 30 yards out. I will have to check again to see if there is a wind knot which of course would have impacted the cast.
the Nine foot Lami is rated for 5/8 to 2 oz.
the Eleven foot Okuma is 3/4 to 3 oz.

I wanted to cast lighter weights but way too windy today for that.

Some years ago my buddy and I had paced off a cast with a Kastmaster parallel to the surf line on the sand and believed we had come up with 60 to 65 yards that day. I believe the wind was negligible, unlike today.
