Cell phone services

I see T Mobile is offering $40 per line unlimited talk, text, & data. They say they will pay off your existing phone up to $600, anyone using T Mobile. We currently have 3 lines & have been with AT&T over 20yrs. Good coverage, just to expensive.

Yowzaa why so many

I don’t understand that either, once the Children have jobs and or get married shouldn’t they pay and have there own cell phone bills.

I know so many people who pay for their children’s phones and some of their children are in their 30’s.

I think it gives the parent a feeling of attachment, which is nice.

I agree I hope thats not MTB's case

me...wife...3 grown up kids who don't ask me for anything but I can;t help them when I'm dead...sometimes I'll ask for a stipend each year..last year I did not but the two boys did some work at my daughters so I waived it.....the phones though are on them and they must purchase outright...no monthly chit added to the bill......so I pay 200 a month for unlimited data etc and 39.00 for insurance covering all phones......maybe its not that bad after all?

Oh forgot what i came here to say.,my situation is quite different. I buy my own phones (usually a deal used) . My children pay my cell bill, in fact i don't even have an account. It is Verizon unlimited and they gave me that for Christmas quite a few years ago. A great on going Christmas gift. It works just fine for me. You just have to know if you go much further North of here you are severely limited with service from Any of the carriers. Also will only get 3 or 4 miles off the beach.

I feel your pain MTB, but I had to "cut the cord" no pun intended. My daughter is about to be a PHD and my son owns more toy's now that fill me garage here and upstate! So now I pay for my 92-year old dad's phone, and my father-in-law's TV. But I also buy phones outright and I use Cricket. It's on ATT's backbone which covers me just fine. 3 phones unlimited is about $80 per month. I saw no drop off in service from ATT to Cricket.

Well you have something to look forward to then George. When your Daughter passes her boards, gets her diploma and get's into her residency perhaps she will give you a nice Christmas gift. :giggle:

I have seen that T Mobile is merging or buying out Sprint. I wonder if that means they will be combining the two networks to improve service. We have three lines with AT&T, my phone, & the bride has a phone & an i pad. We are paying off one phone but pay $160 a month with a limit on the data. I fish eastern long island sound in the boat & no matter how far off the beach AT&T, works so I have second thoughts about changing.
