For some reason, besides "Red Dawn", Yamamoto's paraphrased quote that (if the Japs invaded the US in 1941) there would be a rifleman behind every bush came to mind. (with the exception of the majority of those outside of the Appalachians and Rockies) The atomic age makes this scheme obsolete- maybe from an old war game ?
