Coffee drinkers

had a few iced coffees this morning so faro_O,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,im pumped up ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ><)))):>

Home team just had a major win!! I do crave one of those overpriced Moby Dick's 1st Mate (yeah this is a quiz to see how many of you read, and retained info of that American classic) lattes now and again. In an attempt to reproduce it, I bought one of their Verismo systems for home, which did kinda, sorta, allowed me to get one at home. As time progressed, they stopped supplying the coffee, and it was harder and harder to source any decent coffee that worked with the system. When the Ministry of Sociality and Finance nixed my capital request for a high-end home espresso system, I gave up on the Verismo and went with Bustelo K-cups for my high octane fix.

Back in November, we bought a newfangled, internet-enabled Keurig which allows coffee strength and heat adjustments, so I started thinking about using the "Roll Your Own" K-cup attachment. In the past, I could never get a decent cup of coffee using them, but this machine was new and it seemed the newer attachment was improved. So I said, WTF and I went out and got one, along with stopping at a local coffee roaster shop, purchasing their strongest Italian Roast coffee and asking them to grind it one hair finer than what they normally do for K-cups, but one hair coarser than what they do for espresso grind.

Made my first cup yesterday, 4 ozs and Max Strength and almost max Temp. Put on my serape and did my best El Excelente (another history quiz) coffee tasting to find I had one kick ass cup of high test that blew Bustelo K-cups out of the water! Along with a heated milk frother, I was drinking a latte that would make the entire crew of the Pequod proud.

I've already had 2 cups this AM and I'm already ODing on caffeine...
