Count the Ways that we will be regulated in the future

Big big difference

I prefer and have the mates deal with it in the appropriate fashion

at times a younger mate that may not have the skills or tact to deal with it appropriately they bring it to my attention and I’ll attended to it

On the boat I’m the law
What the deck hands do they do in my name at my behest , so no

the other big difference is on the boat it all falls on my shoulders so they aren’t rats bring it to my attention

out in the street what that guy or gal does falls in no ones shoulders but their own , you incur no fault or liability

don’t get me wrong if you’ve got the balls to walk up to a guy and confront him about the regs feel free
but calling on a guy with a short or for using the wrong hook is akin to calling up the state police for a guy going 75 on the southern state
Or your neighbors fence being 3 inchs to high or low

I get. Had the guy responded on any other way other than F-you, I would have walked away. I also did it in front of him.
So it isn't like I snuck off and did it behind his back.

I get what your saying

too many on here go to far in either words , thoughts or deeds though

Don't by any means mean to steal the thread. I was thinking of posting this issue for comments and it has been mentioned above in a few posts.

When was the last time you saw or was stopped by a DEC officer? I fish the North Shore from early May to late November and haven't seen one in years. I am on the water multiple timed per week. A stones throw away from there Stony Brook Headquarters.

The above rules and regulations can't be enforced because there are only 40 DEC officers in the state.

That is why the "bad apples" so to speak have no fear of punishment. No to mention no bail but that is a subject for another day

We will see more regulations that make no sense.
I was boarded last year. I saw DEC on the water this year, but they didn't stop me.

They are definitely understaffed, which is hurting their conservation effort. But you do see news articles about people caught and fines being issued, so the threat is there for those folks even if it's not a huge risk.

With so few officers enforcement and catching poachers only works with the public's help. If you see something, say something.
